* Salads are a terrific way to start your meal. But it is highly recommended to have the salad dressings like sauce or lime juice along, which will help you monitor your food intake. 

* When you are having fish or chicken or even vegetables ask them to grill it with very less oil or butter. It’s best if you have it without any butter or oil. The most healthiest way to have it is to have them grilled without oil or butter.

Tomatoes are excellent for your health as they are good anti-oxidants and contain a high quantity of vitamin C, and will never make you fat. Whereas cream sauces can only help you in adding up calories and fats.

* Cold drinks are found to be abnormally high in sugar content which is harmful for your body, so you must opt for water insted of such beverages along with your meal. 

* It is a healthy practice to share your dessert with your friend or family members, by doing that you will only have half a portion of it, and lesser intake of calories. Also your craving for dessert is satiated.

* If you are a great fan of soups then try not to order cream based soups. Try out tomato based sauces that are good for your body and won’t add up those unwanted calories to your body.  There is also a great advantage of having soup before a meal. Soups can prevent you from adding up extra calories by not over filling your stomach with the main course.

* If you are always used to having baked potatoes with cream, butter or cheese, then you need to change your habits and ask for tomato based soups or salsa. You will be cutting down on some serious calories and fat if you do that.

* You must always listen to your body and stop eating when you feel that your stomach is full.

* For side dishes you can order baked potatoes or steamed vegetables that are healthy and avoid those high caloried french fries. This can help you cut down on some hefty calories. 

* While selecting your favorite food from the menu look for dishes that are grilled, broiled, poached, or steamed which are low fat cooking methods. Avoid those dishes that’s deep fried or that uses excess oil and butter.

* When you are having bread or bread rolls have them plain and avoid butter or oil. This will help you stick to a low calorie meal even while eating out.

* Even when you are eating out, try to include a lot of vegetables and fruits to your meal which are a great source of dietary fibers and are also a rich source of vitamins and minerals. All of these are highly essential for your body functions.

* Order those dishes that are prepared from whole grain rather than refined flour. So whole grain bread and pasta should be be ordered instead of white bread or regular pasta.

* If you are a person who’s very particular about having desserts then you must order a fruit based one. This both low calorie and can easily quench your appetite for a dessert.

* You need not stay away from your favorite foods just because it is rich in calories and fats. A well balanced diet includes food that is low cal as well as high cal. You only need to see to it that you are not taking in a lot of high cal food.

Day 1 Breakfast. Half the package of cereal and half the bottle of milk.

Brazil Nut Milk: water, brazil nuts, vanilla extract, sea salt, stevia powder (124 calories/bottle)
Strawberry Crunch Ingredients: buckwheat, vanilla, stevia, sea salt, strawberries, honey (325 calories/package)

225 calories for breakfast, not including my regular mug of (non-raw) coffee with cream and sugar. I actually couldn’t fit half the bottle of milk in the bowl, so I drank a little more with lunch.

Since the milk was sweetened and the cereal was sweet, the milk/cereal combo was way too sweet for me. And it was crazy filling. It took me an hour to get through it. I had no morning snacks and went on to have lunch even though I wasn’t quite hungry yet.

The milk by itself is tasty. Tastes nutty like soymilk. The texture is not completely smooth (it’s made by soaking nuts in water, pureeing, then straining), but it doesn’t bother me.

I had 24 oz of water and 12 oz of tea after breakfast, through the morning.
